Charlie Curilan is a Filipino-Dutch actor based in the Netherlands whose career ranges from acting on stage, film, and commercials, working as voice-over talent, to coaching aspiring actors at the Mulholland Academy in Amsterdam. He started his professional career as part of the original cast in the Dutch version of Cameron Mackintosh’s hit musical Miss Saigon in 1996, produced by Stage Entertainment, and then again in 2014 in the Swedish version at the Malmö Opera. His earlier appearances include Dutch TV series Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden, Meiden van de Herengracht, and A’dam en EVA. He was nominated BEST ACTOR alongside seasoned Dutch actors at the 2018 edition of the 48-Hour Film Festival–Rotterdam for his performance in the comedic short film, Stanley 911 (which won the People’s Choice award), and in the following year, Charlie won BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR at the CineZee Film Festival in Vlissingen, Netherlands for his dramatic performance in the short film Open Wond.

Charlie’s acting versatility landed him a featured role in the Dutch comedy series Jos, by NLFILM and AVRO-TROS network. He played a polyglot in the Dutch comedy Fazant and in the same year played a dramatic role in the final installment of the multi-awarded trilogy Capo di Famiglia. These are just some of the most notable films out of 30+ film credits that make up his body of work. (Check out his IMDB page for his full filmography.) In the future, people will see more of him as he plays one of the lead roles in the international sci-fi feature film, Guinea Pig, to be filmed in Sweden in the summer of 2024. A future project is right ahead as he has recently wrapped the short film Goldfish Breakfast, by surrealist filmmaker, Uriel Mutahemuel, a project specially commissioned by the Kunstinstituut Melly to be premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2024.
